The plantation shutters in the room are lovely. She has healing, therapeutic hands! Book her if you can! Our room (226) was spacious and clean.
The steam room was very dirty, the women's locker room needs an overhaul (dirty spots on rugs). The spa is nice, but some of the general areas need some better upkeep. At this point we went to the spa for our treatments. When we completed lunch at 1:45, our room was still not ready. We arrived at 12:30 and our room was not ready, but we understood that we were early, so we went to have (a mediocre) lunch at Flannel. We were told that they would do their best. As it is off season and the hotel seemed very quiet, we hoped that they could accommodate us. An honest review of our recent stay: We called ahead and asked for an early check in of 1:00 pm. While we still love Topnotch, we have been increasingly disappointed with certain service aspects of the hotel. My first visit was in 2007, prior to the major renovation. Travel the East Kristy & Matt Pickering Instagram- husband and I visit Topnotch on a regular basis (1-2 times annually for overnights and now often for daily getaways). Luckily Topnotch is conveniently located a short few miles from the town center, as well as the popular Stowe Mountain Resort for skiing. But since it was our first time visiting Stowe, we wanted to do some exploring. With two on-site restaurants, both indoor and outdoor pools and jacuzzis, multiple fire pits, tennis court, gym and of course the town's most renowned Topnotch Spa, there's almost little reason to ever leave the resort itself. Upon our arrival at the resort, we received top-service from the front desk and staff, welcoming us to their mountain oasis for the weekend. Departing from the Boston area on Friday afternoon, the drive up took us around 4 - 4.5 hours. Whether you like to embrace the cold or escape it, Topnotch fits the needs of everyone's ideal winter getaway. There are many hotels to choose from in Stowe, but few offer the combination of luxury and cabin appeal like Topnotch Resort & Spa.
